Dozers are versatile machines commonly used for earthmoving tasks. They are available in wheeled and tracked configurations. Wheel dozers are ideal for working on compacted ground, whereas crawler dozers can handle rough terrain. These machines vary in size from larger dozers to more compact models. Komatsu’s dozers offer an excellent example of these differences as they range in size from 4 tonnes to 152 tonnes. Caterpillar dozers, by contrast, range in operating weight from 8 to 100 tonnes.
